We're moving! (Temporarily.) Construction has started on our building, the Argonne. Here's what you need to know:
Our current space, 515 18th St. at the Argonne, is fenced off but still accessible at 18th and Grand Ave. We will be here through the end of January.
We will be relocating while construction takes place. Our new address will be 1501 Ingersoll Ave. Des Moines, IA 50309. It's just 3 blocks east of our original location.
We anticipate Funky Finds will be closed up to 4 weeks as we transition to our new temporary space.
We have been told we will be located in this new space for up to a year, but we won't move back to the Argonne until construction is complete here.
If you have packing materials you'd like to donate to us, we will happily accept them. Bring them by Wednesday–Saturday from 12–6.

When are you moving?
We will be closed the month of February to move. We will reopen at 1501 Ingersoll Ave. in March 2020.
Where is the new location?
1501 Ingersoll Ave. Des Moines, IA 50309. (Just three blocks east of our original location!) It offers free parking, as well as a bright, airy space with a deco/mid-century feel.
Wait, what's going on??
The Argonne is being completely renovated. While construction is underway, we will be moved to 1501 Ingersoll Avenue. Once the construction is complete, we will move back to the Argonne into a new-and-improved space larger than the one we're in now.
In the 1920s, The Argonne was the Ford factory showroom and housed workers from the factory across the street (now Central Campus.) The building has been awarded a preservation grant to be on the National Registry of Historic Places. It was the first building in the city of Des Moines to house an elevator. When we return, the building will be beautifully renovated and will offer studio apartments, AirBnb rentals, offices, and retail space. Construction is estimated to be complete in 2021.
We expect to be at our Ingersoll location for one year.
